In addition to our constant attention to detail, we also had to preserve intact the 18th- and 19th-century mood of the decorations. A significant challenge of stone restoration work was the fact that the castle hosting Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg was built over a very long period marked by changing architectural trends and fashions. The constructors originally used Crema Marfil and Veneziano marble. Some interior design elements were based on Breccia Sarda and Perlato Olimpo marble that was very popular in the early 20th century.

We were entrusted with a very responsible task of removing surface irregularities and chips in the historic, carefully restored castle.

For a long time, the castle served as a cadet school, hospital, but also a boarding school and centre for refugees. Only since 1997, with a huge amount of work, the current owner has managed to transform the building into an internationally acclaimed luxury hotel. For stone cleaning, we used the method of planetary wet grinding. This allowed us to reduce the time it took to complete the work. Despite the size of the building and the large number of repair actions, we only needed to dispatch four of our specialists, which significantly reduced operation costs. What is more, we achieved excellent results of the work thanks to the use of nanotechnology products from the Lotus L2/L4 system. We are happy that we were able to contribute in a small way to the restoration and repair of such an amazing building as Schloss Bensberg.
